Supporting reconstruction

Among other things, Denmark has taken on a special role in the reconstruction of the city of Mykolaiv.

For the reconstruction of the city of Mykolaiv, one emergency package, construction machinery and other equipment have been donated.

Denmark also supports the reconstruction of Ukraine's energy sector.

Aid for reconstruction

Below is a list of all the donations made to date in support of the reconstruction of the port and region of Mykolaiv, as well as other efforts to rebuild the infrastructure of Ukraine.

Purchase and donation of equipment

DKK 2.8 million granted to the Ministry of Industry and Trade to assist in the purchase, transportation and donation of equipment to support the drainage of flooded areas following the destruction of the Nova Khakhova dam.

Ukraine Fund Reconstruction Package I

DKK 470 million for the first reconstruction package under the Ukraine Fund. The package has a particular focus on rebuilding social infrastructure, energy and water. 60 per cent of the aid goes to Mykolaiv, and 40 per cent to Ukraine nationally.

Private sector support

DKK 400 million for a government loan and guarantee scheme under the Danish Export and Investment Fund (EIFO) to facilitate trade and investment in Ukraine by reducing commercial risk.

Emergency package I

DKK 119.5 million in the so-called first emergency package with a special focus on the reconstruction of the water, energy and heat supply in Mykolaiv and nationally.

Emergency Package II

DKK 190.6 million in the second emergency package with a special focus on the reconstruction of critical infrastructure in the energy sector, including the purchase of generators, water pipes and heating systems.

Other aid for reconstruction

Construction machinery: Denmark has procured and donated a total of 94 units of construction machinery. These include large excavators, front loaders, backhoe loaders, trucks, heavy equipment trailers, etc. The donations were made in response to a direct request from Ukraine, based on the need for different types of construction machinery in the clean-up after the ongoing Russian invasion.

Equipment parts: The Energy Agency, in collaboration with the Danish Embassy in Ukraine and the Danish Board of District Heating (DBDH), has collected donations from Grundfos, Broen and Hydro-X, consisting of 53 pieces of equipment, including water pumps, valves and electrodes, intended for the Mykolaiv region.

Financing of equipment: Donation via Ukraine Energy Support Fund (Energy Community). Donated on the basis of Ukraine's request to the EU for the donation of equipment and fuel (or funds to finance it) to maintain energy supply.
